About Us

A travel agency built on accreditation — and on knowing Ethiopia first-hand

Al Muttena Tour & Travel is based in Addis Ababa, at the crossroads of Ethiopia and the world.

Who we are / 01

Experience the country through people who live in it

Al Muttena Tour & Travel is a tour & travel agency headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The agency is listed as an IATA-accredited member in the accredited-member directory of the Ethiopian Travel Agents Association — Ethiopia's professional body for travel agents.

In practical terms, that means we hold internationally recognised credentials for air ticketing, and we work within a national network of travel professionals. For our travellers, it means one accountable point of contact for flights and journeys alike.

Our work covers two worlds that belong together: the mechanics of travel — flights, routings, logistics — and the experience of Ethiopia itself, from Lalibela's rock-hewn churches to the walled lanes of Harar.

How we work/ 02

The principles behind every arrangement

Simple commitments, kept consistently — on every ticket and every journey.

Accredited & accountable

We operate as an IATA-accredited agency and an ETAA member, and we stand behind every arrangement we make.

Local knowledge, honestly shared

We advise from first-hand familiarity with Ethiopia — including candid guidance on when and where travel makes sense.

Personal, not automated

No portals, no ticket numbers. You speak with a person who knows your file and answers directly.

Clarity before commitment

Routes, logistics and costs are explained before anything is arranged, so you always know what you are agreeing to.

Our perspective/ 03

Ethiopia deserves to be introduced properly

It is a country of real depth — more UNESCO World Heritage sites than almost anywhere in Africa, landscapes that run from 125 metres below sea level to over 4,500 metres above it, and a living culture of coffee, faith and hospitality.

That depth is why we plan journeys in conversation rather than selling fixed packages off a shelf. Tell us what draws you — history, trekking, photography, faith, food — and we will shape the route around it.
